Health Department

The Greene County Health Department is dedicated to the purpose of communicable disease prevention and health promotion for residents of all ages in Greene County and protecting the environment in which they live. The department maintains programs of education, regulatory enforcement, and provides health services devoted to the promotion of a healthy environment in Greene County.

The staff of the Greene County Health Department is devoted to meeting the challenge of public health issues, which arise on a daily basis. The services we offer are as follows:

  • Food Licensing/Permits
  • Food Inspections
  • Environmental Health/ Septic Permits
  • Vital Records- Birth and Death Records
  • Health Education
  • Lead Screening
  • TB Testing
  • Public Health Nursing- Communicable Diseases
  • Medical Waste Disposal (e.g., sharps disposal)
  • Head Lice Program
  • Safe Sleep
  • Health Screenings
  • Naloxone Training and Distribution

Covid-19 Vaccinations

We now have the 2023/2024 Formula COVID shots. We only carry Moderna, which is now known as Spikevax. You will need to call the office to schedule an appointment, 211 will no longer be able to schedule for you. (812) 384-4496.

We offer after hours vaccinations on Tuesday and Wednesday's until 6 PM. 

We no longer offer COVID testing.
